Spiritual Survival Preparedness

Scriptures References: James 4:8; Romans 6:23; Matthew 4:17; John 3:16; Acts 4:12; John 5:22

We already know that the Master’s return is imminent.  Before He returns, there will be unbelievable stress to individuals, people groups, and nations.  How do we effectively prepare for the coming stress and the return of the Savior?  Thankfully, both require the same preparations.  If we prepare to meet the Master, we are automatically prepared to handle the coming stress.

The most important things that we need to do RIGHT NOW are:

  • Repent and Adopt a Lifestyle of Holiness

Until Yahushua showed me what true repentance and holiness looked like a few years ago, I didn’t really know what was involved in the two.  Don’t get me wrong; I knew I wasn’t living in holiness.  I just didn’t know how to start doing so effectively.  This lifestyle requires resisting the devil and crushing the lust of the flesh.  I learned to keep it simple and follow as closely to the Master’s example as I possibly could.  Instead of trying to live as close to the edge of worldliness, I started living as close to the Master as possible.  James said draw near to Yahweh, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).  This separation from worldliness will surely save your spiritual life and may save your physical life in some instances.   Always remember that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23); sin is not free.  The enemy that has infiltrated our society knows this and would like nothing better than to use the Scriptures to destroy us.  Nothing is more odious than satan quoting scripture while ensaring Yahweh’s ignorant people (i’m speaking from firsthand experience).

Yahushua stated early in His ministry to “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” Matthew 4:17.  Repentance is the key preparatory activity of the true believer.  Yahushua has already done all the necessary work.  All we have to do is to believe on Him to be saved (John 3:16).  Part of “believing” on Him is to believe that He is the righteous judge who offers forgiveness for sins once we repent.  The scriptures state that the Father judgeth no man but all judgment is given unto the Son (John 5:22). There are no “special” people who by pass His judgment. The grace that He offers is the opportunity to truly repent and be forgiven.  The door of grace is quickly closing.

  • Be Water Baptized In The Name of Yahushua of Nazareth For The Remission of Sins

Be obedient.  Water baptism is a symbolic act but done in faith activates crucial promises for believers.  Also, I know people use titles during baptism: The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.  They also use the Greek rendition of the Son’s name.  I believe that we’ve been shown a lot of grace in the past; however, it’s time to throw off ignorance.  The enemy will continue to get bolder, and true believers will need to operate in spiritual power or be overcome.  Operating in power requires that you absolutely know and are connected with the power source. This means knowing and using His real name!  There is power in His name for it is the only one given by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).  Historical accounts note that the early church which gave the devil such a panic always used Yahushua’s real Hebrew name.  See article by Eliyah- “Why Yahushua?”  After reading the section of the early church’s explanation for using only Yahushua’s Hebrew name, one may wonder why His proper name was changed in the first place.  I mean really; who presumed to change the name of the Son of Yah anyway?

  • Pray for the Gift of the Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit)

This is the Spirit that raised Yahushua from the dead.  He’s powerful; you want him operating within you fully.

  • Watch for the Signs of His Coming

Be ready to move where Yahushua wants you to move and to stand firmly where He wants you to stay.  As you watch for the signs of His coming, you are less likely to be deceived by ignorant people and the more sinister people to whom they report. Watching for the signs of His coming also enables you to be an encouragement to other believers.  People may think that you’re crazy for a little while, but as the truth unfolds they will wish that they had invested their time in a relationship with Yahushua.  After a while, they will know that He is the only hope.

  • Pray Without Ceasing

We need to pray for discernment, protection, humility that garners grace, wisdom, and provision.

“Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” Luke 21:36

  • Practice Fasting

Yahushua said that the days would come when the bridegroom has been taken from the disciples and then they (the true disciples) would fast.  (Matthew 9:15)

Also Matthew Chapter 6 states

When (not if) you do alms… Matthew 6:2

When (not if) you pray…Matthew 6:5

When (not if) you fast…Matthew 6:16

Do your best to practices these things. All three activities seem to be beneficial and should not be deglected. The Master knows each of our hearts and our circumstances.  If you’re broke but have been given more time, pray and fast more.  If you’ve got this world’s goods but have limited time, give some alms and fast more.  Always be in communication with Yahushua in order to hear His instruction; this constitutes prayer without ceasing.
