The Least and the Greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven

Scripture References: Amos 9:8-15; Matthew 5:17-19; Acts 15:19-21; I Corinthians 9:21; Isaiah 56:3-7

I was praying for clarification about the issue of the law versus grace. I was wondering how Christiandom could have gotten so far from the practices of the persecuted yet power-infused Early Church. It seems that modern day believers have set aside knowing and using the Master’s real name as well as seeking to know the times by keeping and understanding the significance of Yah’s sabbath and feast days.

Constantine: Catalyst For Change

I mean I can see as well as anyone else that members of the early church were thrown to the lions and persecuted everywhere they went. This was a way that Yah used to spread the true gospel around the globe. After Constantine made christianity the state religion of Rome, he had to incorporate the customs of the pagans so that he could have a peaceful, consolidated empire.

During this time, pagan customs slowly became a part of what is now the false church assemblies. There was no longer a need for the devil to persecute these assemblies because the threat to his operations had been effectively neutralized.  The true believers and the true gospel that they carried were silenced for many years. Some have over the years attempted to revive the true teachings and way of life of the early church, but the false assemblies have been the ones to flourish in this world’s system for the most part.

Gentiles, the Early Church, and the Jerusalem Council

Paul is credited more than anyone else with the evangelization of Gentiles and the founding of the church assemblies that we see today in some form or another. The main theme is that believers are not under the law but under grace. I went back to the account of the early church and the incorporation of Gentiles into the body of Yahushua/Jehoshua (see Numbers 13:16 for clues about the Master’s name) to study the origins of this theme.

In Acts 15:19-21, Paul and Barnabas had decided as led by the Holy Spirit to focus in on spreading the gospel to the Gentiles after being rejected one too many times by the Jews in many areas. They presented themselves and this idea to the rest of the remaining apostles in Jerusalem. The believing Pharisees that were in Jerusalem said that the Gentiles should follow the law of Moses and become circumcised.

Peter had already received word from the Master in a dream about Gentiles coming into the kingdom. He saw Gentiles such as Cornelius and his household receiving the Holy Spirit just as he had. He stated that they should not be burdened down with the laws that he and his forefathers could not keep. What he did not say was that those with the Holy Spirit and who are lead by the Spirit are the children of Yah, and they keep the law because the law is written in their newly born again hearts.

James, who was the half brother of Yahushua/Jehoshua (see Numbers 13:16 for clues about the Master’s name) and believed later, stated that they should simply tell them the following:

  • Abstain from pollutions of idols
  • Avoid fornication
  • Don’t eat anything that has been strangled
  • Don’t consume blood or anything containing blood

He said this because, “For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.” (Acts 15:21)  James expected that they would naturally be instructed in the law of Moses every sabbath day so there was no need for the disciples of Yahushua/Jehoshua (see Numbers 13:16 for clues about the Master’s name) to teach these points.

What Did The Master Say About Keeping Commandments

Only the Master Yahushua/Jehoshua (see Numbers 13:16 for clues about the Master’s name) could have known that the law given to the people by Moses and even knowledge of the correct sabbath day would be cast aside over a thousand years later. However, He did know that this would happen. He gave His true followers guidelines about the law. Remember how He said that He did not come to destroy the law or the prophets but to fulfil  them.

He said,

“Verily I say unto you that until heaven and earth pass, not one jot or tittle will pass from the law until all be fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18

I believe that the Master used heaven and earth passing away as a time marker for the fulfilment of all things. At this event, the new heavens and the new earth will be presented. This has not happened yet and therefore Yah’s law is still in place.

The Master also gave us a clue about the importance of doing and teaching others about keeping the law in its totality. He went on to say that…

Whosoever therefore shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whosoever shall do and teach them the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19

Hierarchy Within the Kingdom of Heaven

I admit that for many years I didn’t notice the difference between the terms kingdom of Yah and kingdom of heaven.  One day I was listening to a radio program on prophecy when I heard a man mention that there was a difference between the two terms.  The man did not explain the difference in that forum, but I asked the Master about it.  He confirmed the difference by showing me the following…

The term “kingdom of heaven” is different from the term “kingdom of Yah.” The kingdom of Yah is found within the hearts of every true believer in the Master Yahushua/Jehoshua (see Numbers 13:16 for clues about the Master’s name). I believe the kingdom of heaven will be revealed at the Master’s return. The scriptures imply that there is a hierarchy in the kingdom of heaven that does not seem to exist in the kingdom of Yah. Remember how the Master said that you are all brothers and have one master or teacher; this was said in regards to the Kingdom of Yah.

According to Amos 9:9-12, the house of Israel shall possess the remnant of Edom and all of the heathen who are called by my name saith the Master. The difference between the true house of Israel and those heathen that are called by His name is the keeping of the commands per the covenant. This remnant of Edom and heathen people will end up being servants of the house of Israel.

Paul stated in I Corinthians 9:21 that he was not without law to Yah but under the law to Christ. He knew that his rank in the eternal kingdom of heaven was being determined by the way in which he ran the race in the Kingdom of Yah here on earth.

The Promise To All That Keep The Commands of Yah

The Most High gave the prophet Isaiah specific promises for those who join themselves to Israel via His covenant. Let’s take a look…

Thus saith the Master, keep ye judgement, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Neither let the son of the stranger that hath joined himself to the Master, speak, saying, The Master hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the Master unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Master, to serve him, and to love the name of the Master to be his servants every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant. Even them will I bring to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon my altar, for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all people.          Isaiah 56:3-7

I don’t know about you, but I have been put down enough in this life.  Being someone else’s servant (the Master excepted) in the upcoming kingdom of heaven doesn’t sound as appealing as being counted as a daughter.  That’s why I’ll continue to repent and keep the commands as led by the Ruach ha Kodesh.

Shalom!
