Silver, Gold, and Precious Things

References: Joshua 6:17-24; II Kings 20:13-18; Daniel 1:1-5; Daniel 5:1-3; Daniel 11:43; II Timothy 2:20;Joel 3:4-8; Isaiah 17:3

To the body of Yahushua, please pray for all of Yah’s people but especially those living in Egypt and Syria. Here is why.

Saved Vessels in Jericho: the Harlot Rahab and Company

Many of you have already figured out that when the scriptures refer to “treasures,” “precious things,” “vessels of silver and gold,”and “vessels of brass and iron” Yah is talking about people belonging to Him; they are usually in covenant with him or are selected for salvation.

We see an early example of this during the fall of Jericho in Joshua 6:17-24. Joshua states that the harlot Rahab and all who are with her safely in the house (or store – see dreams and visions about store) were to be saved because of the agreement or covenant made between her and the spies. Then Joshua goes on to say that the gold and silver and vessels of brass and iron were to be consecrated to the Master and brought into the treasury.

Everything else was considered accursed and destined to be burned with fire (also see dreams and vision about burnt city). The harlot Rahab and those with her represented the gold, silver, and vessels of brass and iron that were saved, consecrated, and placed in Yah’s treasury.

Prophetic Prediction of Vessels Taken into Babylon: Hezekiah and Isaiah

After king Hezekiah was healed by Yah, he got a little proud because he knew that he was prosperous and rich. He had a great relationship with Yah and repented, but Yah knew that Hezekiah’s son Manasseh would eventually lead Judah into captivity through the sin of idolatry. Since Yah extended Hezekiah’s life fifteen years after healing him, Hezekiah had time to sire Manasseh. Anyway, Hezekiah had a visit from the Babylonians while he was prospering. Hezekiah showed the Babylonian embassage all of his silver, gold, and treasures.

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.” II Kings 20:13

Later, the prophet Isaiah asked Hezekiah what the Babylonians had seen in the house of king Hezekiah. King Hezekiah’s house represented all the house of Judah because he was an anointed king. When Hezekiah responded that he had showed them everything, Isaiah gave him the word that all the treasures would be taken to Babylon and Hezekiah’s offspring would be taken as eunuchs. Here we see that the treasures are closely linked with the children of Judah made eunuchs in Babylon.

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Master. And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.” II Kings 20:17-18

Isaiah’s Prophecy Fulfilled During the Days of Daniel and the Three Hebrew Children

Since Yah’s word is surely true, Daniel and his three friends who represented gold and silver vessels went into captivity as eunuchs in the Babylonian palace. We see in Daniel 1:1-5 that part of the vessels of Yah’s house were brought into the land of Shinar into the treasure house of a strange g-d which is Babylon.

And the Master gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels of the house of Yah: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his g-d; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his g-d. And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes…” Daniel 1:1-5

Then we see Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah being brought into the house of the king of Babylon.  There wasn’t a regime change until the Babylonians were caught misusing Yah’s golden vessels as part of a celebration to their false g-ds. Daniel 5:1-4

Pray for the People of Egypt: Daniel 11:43

I never thought about Egypt being a rich country with lots of gold, silver, and precious things so the passage in Daniel 11:43 always puzzled me a little. It talks about the anti-messiah or one of the ten kings that follow the anti-messiah having control over all the treasures of Egypt.

But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt…” Daniel 11:43

I read it again and realized that it was the people to whom Yah was referring. I do not know the type of Christians or believers are there – whether they are true believers or hanging on to paganistic christianity customs. However, it does not matter what I think. According to the word there are some people who are considered precious to Yah in Egypt.

These people are not dishonorable vessels either as explained in II Timothy 2:20. They are counted as treasures of gold and silver not of wood and earth which symbolizes vessels of dishonor.

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.” II Timothy 2:20

Prophecy About the Return of the Second Captivity and Judgement of the World System

Joel 3 explains what is going to happen during the judgement period and why. Because Tyre and Zidon sold the children of Israel into slavery (remember world system leader – King of Tyre also known as the Assyrian are adept at placing a sin stumbling block in order to enslave), Yah is going to pay them back by causing them to go into captivity a far off. Here’s exactly what He said…

Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head; Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things: The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border. Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head: And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Master hath spoken it. Joel 3:4-8

The children of Judah=silver. The children of Jerusalem (the city of the great King) = gold.

A Reason to Pray For the People of Syria: Isaiah 17:1-3

According to the prophecies, Syria will and is going through a tremendous trial. The prophet Isaiah said that the ancient city of Damascus would be in ruins. However, he also stated that the remnant of the Syrians shall be as the glory of the children of Israel.

The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Master of hosts.” Isaiah 17:3

It is exciting to see prophecy unfolding but please keep these people in prayer. They may not be located in the seat of the beast’s kingdom, but it looks like they are in the midst of the fire. However, fire purifies precious vessels of silver and gold.
