I recently had a discussion with a pastor about church unity and why it’s absent within the Christian community. He mentioned that many had become disillusioned with the Christian church. I told him that I agreed, and I was one of them. Of course we got into a lively discussion about why!
The main topic of the discussion was about the applicability of the law after the death, burial, and resurrection of Yahushua whom he still referred to as J-sus. I believe that the law, statutes, and commands are still applicable, but he wasn’t sure that all of the laws were still applicable for today (Matthew 5:17,19). Knowing that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses and nearing the time of the regathering of the remnant, I was careful to state emphatically that we should observe to do every command, law, and statute.
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
We know that all has not been fulfilled because Yahushua stopped reading the passage in Isaiah 61:1-2 right before “declaring the day of vengeance of our Eloha.” He is to fulfill this duty upon His return whether as the commander of the battle or as Michael our malak prince ( I need to ask Yah for more clarfication on that). Anyway, the vengeance of Yah’s temple and His great and terrible Day will happen in the future. Afterwards, the old heaven and earth shall pass away.
Anyway, I told the pastor that the commands right down to the tassels on the garments are to be observed (Numbers 15:38,39). Here are some common arguments that I’ve heard from him and others after the Father taught me the truth.
- Dietary laws do not apply because of the dream Peter received about the cleansing of the Gentile believers starting with the household of Cornelius in Acts 10.
- Paul said to eat what was put before you without questioning its origins; they reference I Corinthians 10:19-25.
- Circumcision was done away with for everyone by the Jerusalem council; people reference Acts 15.
- Don’t judge a man on the observance of feast days and sabbaths; if someone chooses to knowingly make the first day of the week the sabbath, they may. These people reference Colossians 2:16.
- Don’t judge someone who eats all types of meats versus someone who eats vegetables only as they reference Romans 14:2.
Opposition To The Dietary Laws
I’m not really sure why food is such a touchy subject with people, but it is. I tried to gently tell two people who I believed to be genetic Hebrew Israelites (descendants of slaves from transatlantic slave trade) that eating sea and land scavengers like pork and shellfish are not really healthy and not a human food source according to the scriptures. Both proceeded to jump down my throat in their own style.
Their conditioned responses came from false church teachings that they do not have to follow Yah’s laws to please Him; they can eat anything they want as long as it is blessed by Yah. They also believe that all it takes for these formerly unclean meats to be blessed by Yah for consumption is a prayer of thanksgiving. Their prayer that goes directly against the stated law given directly to Moses in Leviticus 11 from Yah supposedly has the “power” to confer Yah’s blessings on these carcasses of scavengers that they wish to consume.
I was not offended, but it left me scratching my head “can these really be the scattered Judean people of Yah?” I mean these laws are in place for the promotion of our own health. People who think about things critically can see the extreme wisdom of Yah in these laws. All Yah’s people need to pray for people (Hebrew Israelites especially) to detox enough to discern life giving foods from toxic, dead “foods.”
Cleansing Of The Gentiles Did Not Extend To Unclean Meats
My discussion with the knowledgeable pastor of Greek descent went slightly better, but he still did not agree that eating unclean meats was against the laws of Yah for today’s believers. He gave the example of the dream that Yah gave to Peter concerning the non Hebrew Cornelius and his family. Yah showed Peter a group of unclean animals and told him to kill and eat. Peter told Yah that he had not ever eaten any unclean animals, but Yah said that what He cleansed should not be called unclean by Peter. Peter was then escorted to the house of Cornelius who had just received the gift of the Set Apart Spirit.
The dream did not mean that the unclean meats were now cleansed. It meant that the chosen remnant of non-Hebrews formerly called Gentiles were no longer to be considered and treated as “unclean.” The dream used the unclean meats to drive the point home to Peter that he was about to deal with a group other than his own people, and the Gentiles were known for eating unclean foods. However, it was the non-Hebrew people that were cleansed not their unclean meats. The unclean meats are still unclean as they do the jobs of scavengers that Yah created them to do.
Keeping Of Yah’s Feasts And Sabbaths
The other popular topic was the law to observe the appointed feast days and sabbaths of the Master. The pastor admittedly did not celebrate the pagan “holy days” of christmas and east-r. However, I mentioned that Shaul (who so many christians claim to follow) observed the feast days of Yah according to the law. He said that if at all possible that he must get to Jerusalem for Pentecost.
“For Shaul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the feast of Shavuot/ Feast of Weeks.”
Shaul like Yahushua followed the laws of Yah even at the risk of his life. It’s like this…Jerusalem was Pharisee headquarters at that time. Shaul was not going back to Jerusalem because the feast was a time for him to reconnect with family and friends.
According to certain accounts, the Pharisees were seeking to kill Shaul a former Pharisee who knew all their secrets but chose to follow Yahushua. Shaul was determined to go back to Jerusalem because Yah commanded that all Hebrew males present themselves before Him in Jerusalem during the set apart feast days (Exodus 12:14, Leviticus 23:21, Leviticus 23:41). Shaul knew very well the days of the feast and sought to obediently keep the command of Yah according to this account (Acts 20:16, Acts 21:24, I Corinthians 16:8-9).
Yahushua was in a similar situation years earlier. During one of the feast days, the Pharisees wondered if He would even show up in Jerusalem because they had made it known that they planned to arrest and kill Him. Yahushua did go to the feast in Jerusalem like an obedient Son, but he wisely went without fanfare and kept a low profile because it was not His time to die. (John 11:56)
It continues to amaze me that people who can easily follow Yah’s law but choose an alternate path think that they deserve to sit at the marriage supper with those who put their lives on the line to be obedient. They will not fit the Hebrew culture of the kingdom because they follow Gentile traditions and pagan based doctrines, and they will likely not be anywhere near the dinner table. I guess I should not be too amazed since I was once in their shoes myself!
Why Yah Does Not Change
My point to all this is that Yah does not change to suit me, you, or the fallen angelics who help satan run this wicked world system. Those angelics thought that Yah would change His mind about them and their sin against His creation here on earth. They were wrong; Yah does not change (Malachi 3:6), and they continue to await their judgement sentence slated for the end of 70 generations from Noah’s flood.
“And when their sons have slain one another, and they have seen the destruction of their beloved ones, bind them fast for seventy generations in the valleys of the earth, till the day of their judgement and of their consummation, till the judgement that is for ever and ever is consummated. 13. In those days they shall be led off to the abyss of fire: 〈and〉 to the torment and the prison in which they shall be confined for ever.” Book of Enoch 10:12,13
“The spirits of the giants shall be like clouds, which shall oppress, corrupt, fall, content, and bruise upon earth. They shall cause lamentation. No food shall they eat; and they shall be thirsty; they shall be concealed, and shall not rise up against the sons of men, and against women; for they come forth during the days of slaughter and destruction.” Book of Enoch 15:9-10
Yah does not change because He does not need to; He is the Creator that knows the end from the beginning. He does not need to change his laws because they were perfect and just from the beginning. The psalmist David attests to this (Psalms 1:2) by stating that those who meditate on His law day and night are blessed. These were not some new laws, but they were the ones given to Moses by Yah. Also, history indicates that the law was given to all Noah’s sons a long time before Moses was even born- e.g. I’ve met a few Asiatic people like Chinese, Koreans, and Native Americans who know the Creator by the name Yahuwah.
The Case For Circumcision
While Yah is concerned with the circumcision of the heart, He commanded all the seed of Abraham to practice circumcision as a sign of the covenant (Genesis 17:9-14). The covenant was passed to the descendants of Jacob forever…throughout the generations.
“And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.” Genesis 17:9-11
“He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.” Genesis 17:13
The Jerusalem Council was approached by Paul and Barnabas on the best way to bring the Gentiles into the faith of the “new covenant” and the Set Apart spirit advised them to tell them that they should eat nothing sacrificed to idols, not participate in fornication, and eat nothing strangled. Circumcision was purposely left out of the commands for Gentile believers but not for Hebrew Israelites. The reason that I say this is because the Jerusalem Council had no authority to change the original law of Yah, and the Set Apart spirit does not give contradictory instruction from what is written in the Torah.
Hebrew Israelites who wanted to keep covenant with Yah got circumcised. I believe this is why Shaul circumsized Timothy who was half Hebrew. Timothy chose to identify with his Hebrew heritage rather than play up his Greek heritage that would likely open up more social and economic doors for him at that time. It appears (…but only Yah knows his heart) that he chose to follow Yah’s covenant rather than enjoy the world’s pleasures of sin for a season.
Also, for those men who like to blame women for everything under the sun… When Moses did not circumcise his son at the prescribed time on the eighth day, Yah came after his main servant who He loved to kill him (Exodus 4:23-26). The only thing that saved Moses’ life was that Zipporah quickly circumsized the child.
Although the actual ancestry of Zipporah is unclear, her father was a priest of Midian or in the land of Midian (Genesis 25:1-2). There is good indication that she was of the seed of Abraham at least in part and was probably aware of the command for circumcision. Even though Zipporah was of the seed of Abraham herself and probably knew very well about the command for circumcision, Yah went after Moses as the responsible head of his household. Moses lived that day, but Yah showed everyone that He meant exactly what He said. He is no respecter of persons.
Non-Hebrews, who are not under the household of a Hebrew Israelite, must simply have the circumcision of the heart as indicated in Ezekiel 44:7.
But What About The Mercy Shown To The Woman Caught In Adultery
Again, the character of Yah does not change right down to the provision for repentance. Teshuvah or repentance is not just a new covenant concept. Yah poured out His heart to His servant Ezekiel about this many years before He sent Yahushua to demonstrate His blood sacrifice for sin. Here’s what the character of Yah looks like…
“Say unto them, As I live, saith the Master Yah, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”
Yah told Ezekiel that if a wicked person turned from sin and started to do righteousness then that person would live (Ezekiel 33:14-16). He demonstrated this fact when he rescued the evil king Manesseh when he repented in chains. Here is an account of what He told His servant Ezekiel about repentance…
“Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.”
Yahushua came in the Father’s name, and He only did and said what the Father told Him to do and say. When the Pharisees brought the woman caught in adultery before Him, He did not answer them right away. Remember how He drew in the sand for awhile (John 8:3-6). I believe that He was listening for instruction from the Father. We do not know the heart of this woman, but I believe that she must have repented. Here’s why…
The law stated that both the man and woman caught in adultery by at least two witnesses were supposed to come before the Hebrew law enforcers for stoning (Leviticus 20:10); the people to cast the first stones were the witnesses. The strange part about this story was that only the woman was brought before Yahushua for judgement. The Pharisees did not come correct, but Yah is still not one to let unrepented sin pass on a technicality. Let’s look further…
Reason For The Pardon
Personal experience tells me that the world system run by satan seeks to keep slaves through sin. Because Yahushua came to make the captives free which destroys the foundation of satan’s kingdom, the members of the system hated Yahushua.
Yah has mercy on whom He wills to soften their heart towards repentance. True freedom comes through repentance and following Yah’s commands using Yahushua as the guide. I believe that this woman took the first step and repented according to the essence of the law (Ezekiel 33:16).
Yah and His Son Yahushua knew her heart obviously, and Yahushua told the people what the Father’s decision was concerning the woman. This was nothing new; during the times of Moses when a hard decision had to be made, Moses consulted the Father and heard directly from Him Deuteronomy 1:17; Numbers 15:32-35.
Moses was the ranking Melchisedek king of his day on the earth while the spirit of Yahushua was by the Father in heaven reigning as the order’s High Priest forever. While Yahushua walked the earth, He was both the ranking Melchisedek king and the order’s forever High Priest. The people definitely brought the woman to the right person!!
No mistake was made. The woman received a pardon because the atonement for sin was already given; the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). The provision for repentance and the pardon for the sons of Adam were a part of the Father’s character and plan from the very beginning.
The law, prophets, and teachings of Yahushua are all saying the same thing- Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent and live. Choose life so that you and yours may live. Life eternal is referenced here.
Back to my personal experience/observation. Usually the person who repents gets “thrown under the bus” so to speak by the world’s system agents because that person demonstrates to others the first steps toward freedom and eternal life which satan hates.
The unrepentant party is often shown undeserved mercy by the system because they are doing satan’s bidding; they deceptively show to the people that some are free to sin without worldly consequences. It is the modus operandi of the system to punish the weakest of citizens and allow the cause of the corruption to remain. Note that the man was no where in sight when the woman “caught” in adultery stood trial before Yahushua.
Another interesting point was that Yahushua did not ask them to drag out their friend for judgement too. His primary mission was not judgement at that time. When He returns, I surely do not want to face The Righteous One with unwashed sins. He will certainly be terrible because He will obediently command the day of Yah’s judgement, the vengeance of His temple. With the same thoroughness that He completed the first mission, He will conduct the second mission declaring the vengeance of Yah (Isaiah 61:2).
The Everlasting New Covenant
When Moses received the ten commandments from the hand of Yah, those commands written in stone were symbolic of the first covenant (Exodus 31:18). As Moses came down to the Israelite camp, he saw that the Israelites had broken the covenant, and he threw the tablets down and broke them. Yah then called Moses to return to the mountain and receive the second copy of the covenant.
This second copy symbolized the “new covenant” and it was an exact copy of the terms of the first covenant (Exodus 34:1). Nothing changed on Yah’s part; our sin caused the need for a new covenant.
“And Yah said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.” Exodus 34:1
The difference between the old and new covenant is that the blood of Yahushua sealed the permanent second covenant for Hebrews and non-Hebrews, and the temporary old covenant was held in place with the blood of animals. The second covenant is better and everlasting because it is sealed by the Messiah’s blood.
The secret about the “new” covenant is that the Lamb was slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8); the new covenant was established before the protocols of the old covenant were even given to Moses.
In this way, the old covenant is a type and shadow of things to come in the future Messianic kingdom, but right now we follow the commands, laws, statutes, and precepts as given through Moses that originated with Yah and His Son Yahushua until all of the law and prophets are fulfilled.
Yahushua showed us this because after healing the lepers He told them to go show themselves to the priests to fulfill the rights of the law given to Moses in Leviticus 14.
The Illusion Of Lawlessness Is Falling Apart
The reason that many are becoming disillusioned with the mainstream Christian church is because their delusion of lawlessness is becoming more apparent to people who simply read the scriptures apart from the corrupted doctrines preached there.
The illusion is falling apart, and a remnant is returning to Yah with their whole hearts purposing to obediently follow the patterns set by the righteous, everlasting order of Melchisedek. Meanwhile, those who want conveniently packaged messages from people claiming to be called of G-d will continue to get exactly that while the time ticks toward eternity.
