Calendar Update

The 3rd new moon of the year was sighted in Israel on 26 May 2017. According to my count after the waving of the sheaf on 14 April 2017, tomorrow 3 June 2017 is the 50th day Shauvot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost. Standard Jewish calendars show the holiday as 4 June 2017 as their sabbaths always fall on Saturday no matter when Abib barley is found to start the new year or when the moon is actually sighted to indicate a new month– The rabbis use an algorithm instead to calculate months.

Shalom!
